ZAMBIAN & AMERICAN YOUTH LAUNCH FIRST-EVER SOCIAL GOOD TRANSPORTATION COMPANY IN ZAMBIA
Brighton Kaoma, a Zambian youth and graduate of Columbia University together with his co-founder Karan Jerath (Forbes 30 under 30 and United Nations SDG Young Leader) are building the technology to improve reliability and efficiency in Zambia’s logistics ecosystem under a new social-good transportation venture called KARTON.
After meeting in Hong Kong in 2019, the duo conceived the idea of KARTON to create local jobs while contributing to the broader mission set in The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on creating a single continent-wide market for goods and services.
“We’re definitely thinking global, we just want to make sure we close out our home market first, then we’ll start looking outside” said Brighton Kaoma.
KARTON Transportation is already enabling unprecedented efficiency and cost reduction in the Zambian supply chain, while delivering products of all sizes across all 10 provinces of Zambia.
