Eswatini Air Expands Regional Network with New Lusaka Route

King Mswati III International Airport national airline, Eswatini Air, has just announced plans of opening a new route from the airport in the Kingdom of Eswatini to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambia.

Established in 2022 by state-owned Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation (RENAC), Eswatini Air took to the skies in March 2023. The airline has regional flights, operating scheduled flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban in South Africa, as well as to Harare in Zimbabwe.
Based at the state-of-the-art King Mswati III International Airport, Eswatini Air has established itself as a trustworthy airline in a short period of time. During its inaugural year, the airline posted an impressive 95% on-time and 98% schedule integrity rate, further reflecting its dedication to dependable service.

The new route to Lusaka will also boost Eswatini Air’s regional connectivity, offering travellers additional business and holiday travel options between Zambia and Eswatini. The expansion is a demonstration of the airline’s broader vision of building closer trade, tourism, and economic ties in the region.

For Eswatini, it is an urgent step towards nurturing economic growth when it expands its direct flights to major African metropolises. In linking the two nations together, the carrier creates new sources of business co-operations, trade pacts, and exchanges of cultures among the two countries.

In addition, the new route places King Mswati III International Airport as a rising hub for intra-regional travel with convenient onward connections to prominent destinations within southern Africa. Through growing usage of this connection, Eswatini Air can position itself as a leading intra-regional carrier. African travel agents also stand to gain from the new route launch in terms of having excellent prospects of promoting Eswatini and Zambia as composite destinations for tourism and business.

Eswatini boasts breathtaking scenery, including high mountains, large game reserves, and a rich cultural heritage that draws in international visitors. Alternatively, Zambia boasts world-famous sites such as Victoria Falls, a Seven Natural Wonder of the World, and expansive safari experiences in South Luangwa National Park. With a single flight connecting these two off-the-beaten-track destinations, travel agents can offer appealing packages that suit adventurers, nature enthusiasts, and corporate visitors alike.

As Eswatini Air continues to expand its network, the airline is set to play a major role in increasing connectivity in the region and stimulating economic growth throughout southern Africa. The new route to Lusaka will not only assist passengers but also enhance bilateral ties between Zambia and Eswatini.

With its regional integration and commitment to stable service, Eswatini Air is well-positioned to become one of the largest players in southern African aviation. Players in the industry need to keep a close watch on the fortunes of the carrier as it increasingly opens doors for air access and trade to and from throughout the region.

The expansion into Lusaka is just one of several moves Eswatini Air is making towards becoming a leading regional carrier. As the airline continues to pursue new ways to expand, it remains dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and convenient air travel that connects southern Africa like never before.
