Fastjet Zimbabwe celebrated its 10th anniversary marking a decade of service in connecting people, places, and businesses across Zimbabwe and the region. The airline described the milestone as a symbol of growth, resilience, and its continued commitment to regional connectivity.
Speaking during the commemoration, Fastjet Zimbabwe Chairman Farai Mutamangira reflected on the airline’s decade-long journey. “Today, we celebrate fastjet’s 10th Anniversary — a decade of hard work, dedication and connections. It has been a journey of growth, resilience and unforgettable memories,” he said.
Fastjet’s Business CEO and Country Head Donahue Cortes said the company’s success over the years went beyond transportation, emphasizing its role in uniting people and promoting tourism and trade. “Throughout the years, our network has grown into something far beyond just a means of transportation. It has transformed into a powerful connection, uniting friends, families, businesses, destinations and dreams across Zimbabwe and beyond,” Cortes said.
Looking ahead, Cortes announced that Fastjet Zimbabwe will soon add another Embraer ERJ145 aircraft to its fleet. “This addition represents more than just capacity – it represents confidence in our market, in our people, and in our collaborative professional relationships with aviation, travel, and tourism stakeholders,” he added.
Fastjet currently operates flights to six destinations — Bulawayo, Harare, Victoria Falls, Lusaka, Johannesburg, and Kruger Mpumalanga — using its fleet of Embraer ERJ145 aircraft. The airline connects Zimbabwe’s major cities and offers international routes to South Africa and Zambia, strengthening trade and tourism links across the region.
Since launching operations in 2015, Fastjet has carried over four million passengers and established itself as a trusted brand in African aviation. The airline has won multiple awards, including the World Travel Awards from 2016 to 2022 and the Skytrax World Airline Awards in 2017 and 2019. It has also been recognized among the top ten African airlines between 2021 and 2025.
In 2024, Fastjet achieved the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration, a key international certification that recognizes adherence to the highest operational and safety standards.
Passengers on Fastjet flights enjoy free baggage allowances, flexible change options, multiple payment channels, lounge access on select routes, free in-flight services, and ancillary offerings such as car hire.
As Fastjet Zimbabwe celebrates ten years of service, the airline says it remains focused on expanding its network and enhancing customer experience. The 10th anniversary not only highlights a decade of achievement but also signals the beginning of a new chapter in the airline’s mission to connect communities and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
