The fleet of Zalawi Group continues to expand, thereby increasing its capacity to support clients and ensure the seamless movement of goods throughout the region. The most recent acquisition comprises 50 new Shacman X5000 trucks now operational.

Zalawi Group is a distinguished leader in cross-border road transport and logistics, operating across Southern Africa under Africa Global Logistics (AGL), a division of MSC Group. The organization is recognized as a predominant independent cargo transporter linking South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It also maintains a leading position in Zambian mining logistics through entities such as Zalawi Haulage and White Horse Carriers.

The company manages a fleet exceeding 500 trucks, reaching up to 520 heavy-duty vehicles, and employs approximately 600 trained professionals. It oversees critical transit routes from principal ports, including Durban and Walvis Bay, to the Copperbelt and Katanga mining regions. The Chingola facility in Zambia, covering approximately 60,000 square meters, houses primary workshops, refuelling stations, and inventory storage. Additionally, the Lusaka facility, spanning around 13,000 square meters, provides maintenance and operational support for local and southern routes.

Strategic operations, fleet maintenance, major repairs, procurement, and driver training are managed from Johannesburg, South Africa. Each newly added vehicle enhances the group’s freight capabilities, broadening its operational reach and offering increased flexibility to supply chains. Robust transportation corridors underpin reliable trade, and escalating volumes along regional routes necessitate a fleet capable of scaling accordingly to minimize delays, uphold consistent transit times, and satisfy customer requirements. This synergy of corridor robustness and logistics scalability sustains resilient supply chains amid evolving demand.

The growth of Zalawi Group is characterized not merely by an increase in the number of trucks but by the expansion of capacity to traverse greater distances, transport larger volumes, and maintain connectivity across Africa—achieved through a growing fleet, enhanced capacity, and fortified connections.
