CFAO Mobility Zambia officially launched the 9th-generation Toyota Hilux in Zambia on October 8, 2026, at the Toyota Nangwenya Branch in Lusaka.

The arrival of the 9th-generation Toyota Hilux marks a major landmark for one of the country’s most trusted pick-up trucks. Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa officiated the launch event, noting that reliable and safe transportation is the lifeblood of Zambia’s economy.

Distributed locally by CFAO Mobility Zambia, the new model targets core commercial and industrial sectors nationwide, including agriculture, mining, construction, and logistics.

Key Features and Performance

The 9th-generation Hilux builds on decades of a reputation for Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR) while introducing modern cabin tech and handling:

  • Powertrain Options: Available with trusted turbodiesel options, including the 2.8 GD-6 engine and an enhanced 2.8 GD-6 48V Mild Hybrid variant that improves fuel efficiency without needing external charging.
  • Electric Power Steering: Debuts Electric Power Steering for a smoother, more agile driving feel on rough rural tracks and city pavement alike.
  • Command Center Interior: Features dual 12.3-inch displays (a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and a 9-speaker JBL audio system on select trims.
  • Built for Business: Retains heavy-duty towing capacity (up to 3,500 kg on hybrid variants), integrated rear and deckside steps for easy loading, and aggressive exterior styling with updated grilles and LED headlamps.
