Zambia Airways and Zambia Motor Dealers Association Join Forces to Boost Business Travel and Vehicle Delivery Services

Zambia Airways has entered into a strategic partnership with the Zambia Motor Dealers Association, establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at improving travel logistics for association members. This new partnership, announced at a signing ceremony in Lusaka, marks a significant step in supporting local business operations by facilitating efficient and affordable movement of goods and people. Through the MoU, Zambia Airways will now offer targeted flights from Zambia to key regional destinations such as South Africa and Tanzania, specifically catering to the needs of Zambia Motor Dealers Association members.

The MoU was signed by Zambia Airways Commercial Manager, Norbet Bwanga, who emphasized that the agreement will aid in the sustainable growth of locally-owned businesses, particularly those in the motor dealership sector. According to Mr. Bwanga, the new travel opportunities are designed to streamline cross-border transactions for the association’s members, who often require reliable transportation channels to conduct vehicle imports, handle inspections, and meet with international partners. By leveraging Zambia Airways’ existing routes to South Africa and Tanzania, the partnership will allow Zambian motor dealers to reduce logistical hurdles while gaining access to new business prospects in these regions.

“Zambia Airways is committed to supporting the growth and mobility of Zambian businesses,” said Mr. Bwanga. “Through this partnership, we will enable our local motor dealers to access key markets across Southern and East Africa, enhancing their ability to expand and strengthen ties within the automotive sector.” Mr. Bwanga’s comments highlight Zambia Airways’ dedication to fostering a business environment where locally-owned businesses can thrive and compete on a regional scale.

Representing Tanzania’s interest in the partnership, Tanzania Airport Authority Director General, Mussa Mbura, stated that this collaboration will yield a range of services and help create long-lasting connections between the two countries. Mr. Mbura explained that the partnership goes beyond simply facilitating travel; it opens doors for collaborative projects in infrastructure, trade, and tourism, which could further support economic growth across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). “With this collaboration, we’re laying the foundation for a more connected regional business community, where trade and business opportunities are more accessible than ever,” Mr. Mbura commented. His remarks underscored the broader impact of such partnerships on regional trade relations and the potential for similar collaborations within SADC.

Members of the Zambia Motor Dealers Association have likewise embraced the deal. Kelvin Kameta, the chairperson of the association, expressed excitement about the beneficial effects this collaboration will have on their sector. Mr. Kameta claims that the restricted and frequently expensive delivery alternatives for transferring automobiles from foreign suppliers to Zambia have been one of the main issues Zambian auto dealers have had to cope with. It is anticipated that the collaboration with Zambia Airways will streamline the importation of automobiles, enabling faster and more effective delivery schedules, ultimately benefiting Zambian end users.

“We are excited to see how this partnership will enhance our delivery system and provide our members with the support they need to operate smoothly,” Mr. Kameta stated.

Zambia’s economic infrastructure, especially in the transportation and trade sectors, is being praised for the partnership between Zambia Airways and the Zambia Motor Dealers Association. The collaboration will help Zambian auto dealers expand their companies and strengthen the local economy by expanding access to global markets and creating dependable transportation connections. The MoU also shows that both sides are committed to giving Zambian businesses additional chances to trade and establish long-lasting commercial partnerships inside Africa. It is expected that as the cooperation grows, it will spur other joint endeavors, strengthening regional ties and furthering the goal of an integrated African economy.
