Reasons Why Participating in the Upcoming Land Linked Zambia Event Will Benefit Your Business

The shift from landlocked to land-linked is creating new trade and investment opportunities, driven by six major transport corridors connecting Zambia to regional and global markets. These corridors are undergoing critical upgrades, opening doors for businesses in logistics, infrastructure, trade, and supply chain solutions. This is aside from planned green and brownfield projects that will also form part of the in-depth discussions at the 4th Land Linked Zambia 2025.

Here’s why Land Linked Zambia is the event you can’t afford to miss:

Gain Exclusive Insights into Corridor Developments

The six key transport corridors—North-South, Dar es Salaam/Central Corridor, Lobito, Beira, Nacala, and Walvis Bay—are undergoing major transformations, creating significant opportunities for businesses in transport, logistics, and infrastructure. As these corridors develop, investments in infrastructure projects, policy reforms, and trade facilitation efforts are reshaping regional connectivity and supply chains.

According to the latest research by ALG, Africa’s railway network spans 83,371 km, with 50% of this network concentrated in the Central and Southern African region, predominantly Cape Gauge. This extensive railway system presents numerous opportunities, not only in facilitating the movement of freight and mining commodities and improving access for landlocked countries, but also in harmonising railway standards, increasing demand for rolling stock, and advancing electrification or alternative tractive effort solutions. The need for interoperable signalling systems and enhanced infrastructure maintenance is growing, alongside the construction of new railway lines to expand capacity and improve efficiency.

These developments highlight the evolving landscape of Africa’s transport sector, where strategic investments and policy alignment will be crucial in unlocking the full potential of the continent’s rail network. With ongoing projects and new business prospects emerging across key corridors, now is the time for industry players to position themselves at the forefront of Africa’s transport and trade transformation.

Among these corridors, the Lobito Corridor stands out as one of the most exciting railway projects currently being rolled out. While it provides an alternative export route for copper and other commodities from Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), it also unlocks significant economic value along the corridor. Procurement activities are already in progress, with recent investments in rolling stock and more opportunities expected in the coming months.

For Zambia, the confirmation of funding for the construction of a new railway line connecting its network to the southern part of the DRC is a major development. This railway will link to Angola’s network, providing Zambia with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean via the Benguela Railway. The project also includes the construction of hundreds of miles of feeder roads along the corridor and the renovation of the 120-year-old Benguela railway, further strengthening regional connectivity and trade potential.

The Bottom Line

Land Linked Zambia is more than just another conference—it’s a platform for action. If you want to stay ahead of market shifts, forge strategic partnerships, and explore real business opportunities, this is the event for you.
