Port of Beira Achieves New Container Handling Record in August 2025

In a recent update on its official LinkedIn page, Cornelder de Moçambique announced that August 2025 marked a significant milestone for its Container Terminal, which processed a total of 40,691 TEUs—the highest monthly volume recorded this year. This accomplishment signifies a 20% increase compared to August 2024, when the terminal handled 34,027 TEUs.

“This milestone further reinforces the Port of Beira’s position as a strategic hub for both regional and international trade, underlining its critical role in the economic development of Mozambique and the surrounding areas,” the post emphasized.

Beira Port’s Importance as a Key Logistics Hub for the Region

The Port of Beira’s advantageous location, coupled with its operational efficiency, strengthens its status as an essential hub for the Beira Corridor, facilitating trade with neighboring nations such as Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
