Sarens expands its operations in Namibia by establishing a new logistics hub close to Walvis Bay

Sarens, a company that specializes in heavy lifting and transport services, has opened a new logistics hub near Walvis Bay, Namibia. This facility aims to improve regional transport and logistics, helping energy, mining, and offshore projects in Namibia and neighboring countries.

The hub covers over four hectares and enhances Sarens’ operations in Namibia while also serving Angola, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Located along the Walvis Bay logistics corridor, it will support projects in oil and gas, mining, and offshore industries by offering integrated transport and logistics solutions.

From this hub, Sarens will provide abnormal transport solutions along with warehousing, staging, shunting, and material handling services. It will start with specialized modular transport equipment, extendable trailers, and heavy-duty lowbed combinations, with plans to invest in more equipment as demand grows in the region.

Walvis Bay is becoming an important logistics center for Namibia and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, thanks to ongoing port expansions and new industrial and logistics development. By investing in this permanent infrastructure, Sarens enhances its ability to provide local support while remaining flexible for cross-border operations.

The new hub also addresses the increasing congestion in port areas. It allows clients to store and handle equipment inland, protecting sensitive materials from harsh marine conditions like corrosion, sand, and salt, which improves overall project efficiency.

Sharde Fisher, the Country Manager for Sarens in Namibia, stated that this investment shows the company’s long-term commitment to the markets they serve. “Sarens is known for establishing a lasting presence wherever we work, investing in infrastructure and local employment. Our combination of local knowledge and global experience helps us support our clients throughout their projects, from planning to delivery.”

Sarens is already active in Namibia’s renewable energy sector. The company assisted in building the InnoVent Diaz I Wind Farm and is currently installing seven wind turbines at the InnoVent Diaz II Wind Farm in Lüderitz, contributing to the country’s energy transition.

With this new logistics hub, Sarens strengthens its regional network and supports projects across Southern Africa more effectively and efficiently.
