Expert Trucks Exporting travelled from Ireland to Zambia for a two-week trip to visit the cities of Lusaka and Ndola in April

In April 2024, the team at Expert Trucks Exporting travelled from Ireland to Zambia on a two-week trip to visit the cities of Lusaka and Ndola. The aim of this trip was to strengthen our relationship with existing customers and forge new connections within the Zambian market to sell Euro 5 and Euro 6 Volvo Trucks.

Our visit offered an invaluable opportunity to meet longstanding clients who have expanded their fleets with our trucks over the past few years. It was very nice to see our trucks working in Zambia with different hauliers and contributing to the workload in the different areas. Seeing our trucks working firsthand reinforced the reliability and performance we strive to maintain when exporting from Ireland worldwide.

Our trip was not only about reconnecting with established customers but also about meeting new clients who are eager to expand their fleets. These meetings were instrumental in helping us understand the unique requirements of the Zambian haulage business, enabling us to tailor our stock to meet the market’s specific demands. This proactive approach to customer engagement is a key part of our strategy to provide the best service possible.

Our interactions with local hauliers shed light on the features and capabilities which are a priority in a truck for our Zambian customers. We have a strong belief in understanding that each country will have different priorities in terms of truck performance, which will vary from Ireland due to workload, road conditions and weather.

During our visit, we travelled to Ndola for four days to meet with new customers with whom we had connected throughout our trip. It was a great opportunity to explore a different area of Zambia and build more relationships.

The final days of the trip were spent dedicated to exploring the communities and local attractions in Lusaka. We enjoyed taking time to explore the local community, visit attractions and experience the food and culture. This enriched our appreciation of the local culture and provided us with insights into the environment in which our trucks operate.
